I am currently studying product design at Cardiff Met, tracking a 1st to date having completed my first year of studies.
Brief
As a Team, design and develop a self-driving emergency shelter capable of automatically and rapidly deploying to vulnerable areas before or during hurricanes, providing essential refuge and resources to affected local communities. I took responsibility for ideation, CAD, and renders. The suspension components used a fully parametric design.
Brief
Design a set of ear buds ideal for extreme sports, that are durable, secure when in ear and provide live information for the sport you are participating in.
Brief
Design a speaker for construction workers who work in high exposure and rural enviroments.
Brief
Take 5 every day items - present and reverse engineer them with sketches, models, CAD models and renders.
I designed these cable brackets to help manage the cabling for an off-grid solar power system.
When I fractured my index finger I had to wear a splint for 4 weeks. I found the splint uncomfortable as my finger got hot, it unnecessarily restricted motion, and the tape/glue caused my finger to get sticky. I needed to design a splint that was easy to take off but stayed on my finger when needed. I over-engineered the first design as it was sharp and rubbed. However, on my final design I included a lot more bevels and holes to keep it light and stop my finger from sweating. I 3D printed the designs flat and placed them in hot water so I could mold it to my finger.
I designed, printed and sold this Scout woggle to raise funds for the World Scout Jamboree in 2019 riainsg £250 towards by ticket.
My neighbour was going to throw away an old dog house. Instead, I asked if I could renovate it and use it for my dog.
I took the internal measurements and made a new frame.
I reused the front and side walls to minimise wastage and made the kennel lower as the bottom had rotted
I used CAD to calculate how much timber I needed to buy.
